Moving toward proficiency-based teaching doesn't have to happen all at once. Explore a practical, step-by-step approach that helps educators reframe existing practices and make purposeful shifts toward student-centered goals grounded in communication, interculturality, and proficiency. By examining two complementary pathways—one backward designed from structure-based assessments and one from Integrated Performance Assessments—participants will discover how familiar activities can serve as bridges to authentic language use while aligning instruction and assessment with proficiency goals.
