Description

The use of mnemonics is frequently part of mathematics instruction; however, mnemonics often focus on rote procedures rather than conceptual understanding. Participants will distinguish between mathematically appropriate mnemonics and mnemonics that may lead to students' misconceptions and overgeneralizations.
