This full-day event for educators, librarians, and children's
literature enthusiasts opens with keynotes from Chad Everett,
assistant principal of Horn Lake Middle School, and Newbery
Medal-winning author Linda Sue Park. Both are advocates
of children seeing themselves reflected on the page-and
of teachers reflecting on how and why they curate their
classroom libraries. Bernadette Dwyer, immediate past
president of the ILA Board, will reflect on the first year of ILA's
Children's Rights to Read initiative as well.
