In this session, we discuss three research stances: Research into Practice; Research in Practice; and, Practice into Research. Initially, we will examine key terms and how the uses of these terms have both evolved and been contested. Next, we discuss in small groups the three research stances using a specific study (or a line of research) that is grounded in one of these three stances. We conclude by considering the implications of each research stance.
