Abstract:
There are many archives and records that have been produced by local churches since the beginning of Christianity Era landed in Indonesia. Most of them produced by missionaries who introduced the new religion to the locals. The languages and the point of view was originated from them. Thus, only several people could read the material as their information in the past. This writing is aiming to open the discussion and awareness of all parties to also consider that historical archives that need to be preserved and maintained are not merely for those who had a great or major history, but also for those who are only local and marginal.
The intended audience of this writing are those who work at the national archives, local churches, and the local government to put concerns and supports on preserving the historical archives of local churches. The historians or history enthusiasts are welcomed to support and assist to raise awareness among historical archive owners.
This session will proceed on virtual only but if it is possible, it will be proceeded in person only or hybrid.
Short Description:
This session will attract interest and information from various religious and cultural circles, not merely the church or Christianity but also open awareness to others that there are many historical archives of religious that need to be discovered and preserved. Not only that, this session will also touch on all levels of society from the government to the local regions to be active together in supporting the perseverance of archives from the local level in all organizations to the highest level
