Taking the Voodoo Out of Detection and Monitoring

Thu, 6/13: 8:00 AM  - 12:00 PM
Room: Peale C
Think air monitoring is boring or nerdy? Bring an open mind and prepare for a shift of perspective. One of the most misunderstood (and misused) pieces of equipment on a hazmat scene is the gas monitor. This 4-hour, high-energy program aims to remove some of the mystery surrounding their use through lecture, real-world examples, and demonstrations.

Learning Objectives

1. Learn to use the instrument that counts (It's soft, squishy, and keeps your ears from touching)
2. Understand when you should use paper indicators, colorimetrics, and advanced monitors
3. Learn how to effectively deploy each technology...and when NOT to!
