MON-A9 Assessing the Performance of Landscape Projects

As Chairman and Principal, Kurt has been instrumental in Design Workshop’s success both nationally and internationally for over 30 years. With a background in landscape architecture, planning and real estate, he has led a diverse range of projects from large scale strategic planning to detailed design of parks and streetscapes. Kurt is a leader in the field of evidence based design and the application of metrics and performance measures to large scale planning projects.

William Wenk, FASLA has been a leader in the planning and design of urban water resource projects across the United States. He has been a leader in the design and construction of soil profiles in floodplains to store flood waters and reduce the impact of urban flooding. He has been unique in designing stormwater solutions to entire watersheds. Wenk is one of the foremost landscape architects using innovative layered soil systems to infiltrate, treat and store stormwaters, and to restore stream and floodplain systems.

As Director of Programs and Communications, Heather leads LAF’s Landscape Performance Series initiatives, scholarship programs and communications. For over a decade, she has used her background in urban planning, environmental engineering, and education to promote sustainable development through the use of green infrastructure and alternative transportation. Her past projects have earned an ASLA Honor Award for Research and two communication awards from the Potomac/Maryland ASLA Chapters.
