MON-A7 Making a Sequel: Ownership Transition in the New World

Michael Hall – the Advisor – President of Hall & Company. Mike has developed 200 ownership transfer plans for design firms nationwide. He has spoken and led seminars for Consulting Engineers Council, the American Institute of Architects and The Professional Services Management Association. Mike has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a civil engineering degree from the University of Washington. He has worked as a consulting engineer and as the financial manager for an A/E firm.

Colie Hough-Beck, ASLA – the Founder – Principal at HBB Landscape Architecture. As the founding Principal of HBB in 1990, Colie has considerable knowledge and experience in landscape architecture, planning and urban design. She has presented at multiple A/E conferences, including ASLA and state chapters of APA and IACC. As a member of the Seattle Planning Commission, she served as co-chair of the land use and transportation committee, with a focus on creating livable communities.

Juliet Vong, ASLA – the Next Generation – President of HBB Landscape Architecture. Juliet’s experience focuses on creating unique places that reinforce community identity. A graduate of the University of Washington, she began her career with HBB during her last year of school and has risen in the firm to become its President in 2009. Juliet has previously served on the University’s Professional Advisory Council and has received multiple awards from state and national design associations.

William Callaway, FASLA – the Moderator – Director and Principal of SWA Group. With 45 years of experience in the profession, Bill has spent 43 of those with SWA working up the ranks from draftsman to CEO. Bill sees his greatest strength as the "depth of understanding and professional knowledge that comes from experience." With a MLA from Harvard Graduate School of Design, he has worked nationally and internationally on award-winning projects at a wide range of scales.
